Biography:

Isaac Martin received his B.A. from Carleton College in 1995 and his Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley in 2003. Before joining the UCSD faculty in 2004, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the U.C. Institute for Labor and Employment. His research interests are in the fields of social movements, political sociology, and social policy. He is particularly interested in the social and institutional bases of redistribution from the rich to the poor in capitalist societies..
