Biography:

Kwai Ng received his B.S. in journalism from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, his M.A.and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago. His research interests are in sociology of law, theories of linguistic practice and sociology of religion. He has conducted field research on Chinese ethnic churches in the United States and the bilingual courtrooms in Hong Kong. He is currently working on a book manuscript on the relationship between language and law based on his ethnographic study of Hong Kong's legal bilingualism.
